Each pirate was playing a different level, and each pirate had a different minimum patch size.

That means we can partition the levels like so: {1}. {2}, {3, 12}, {4, 11}, {5, 10}, {6, 7, 8, 9}.  These are the groupings of levels by patch size, so we choose at most one level from each partition.

CraftingProj: "Huzzah!  I filled all the orders on my first board!"

CraftingProj: "Um.. no... I got a Triple."

Easy enough: Only level 1 has only 3 orders.  CraftingProj was playing level 1, used 1 board, and got a triple on it.

Rhodin’s statement indicates that she used 3 boards, the first with a triple, the second with a double (almost a triple), and the last with a single, meaning that she completed 6 orders and thus was on a level greater than or equal to 4.

Orsino has only gotten doubles or less based on his statement.

Given that only 3 pirates filled orange, levels 1 and 2 were both required.  That also meant that the other three levels could not be within 1 or 2 of each other.  Clue 4 eliminates levels 11 and 12 from consideration since the level used with the smallest dye had to be smaller than either of those.  That left only levels 4, 7, and 10 as valid possibilities.  Summary: levels used are 1, 2, 4, 7, 10.  Note for later use: 1 + 2 + 4 = 7; 1 + 2 + 7 = 10.

They (the 3 oranges) each used a different pattern-type.

The only pirate to get a Vegas was playing a level that is the sum of the levels of the two pirates who used the "plain" pattern-type and the player who had the smallest amount of starting dye.  (Note: four different players are mentioned.)

CraftingProj is the player who used the smallest amount of starting dye, so can't use the plain pattern and doesn't use orange.  This means that level 2 must use plain pattern.  The Vegas is either level 7 or level 10.

Two pirates each saw a "Bingo!" flash on their final boards.  One was PeglegPaul, and the other was the only pirate to use the "letters" pattern type.  Of these two, one continued his combo chain to make an even higher combo, but the other had filled all his/her orders.

CraftingProj must have used the Hatched pattern.  We already know that CraftingProj, Orsino, and Rhodin didn't get any Bingos or higher, so Mat must be the one who used Letters pattern.

The only two pirates who used the same number of boards each got a double on the first board.

These two pirates can't be CraftingProj, Rhodin, or the one who got a Vegas.  One of the two must be level 2, which has to be Orsino, so he got 2+2.  The other must be either Mat or PeglegPaul, so he would have 2+4.

The pirate who took the largest number of boards (4) had the largest amount of starting sponges.

Since CraftingProj took 1 board, Orsino and the pirate who got (2+4)  took 2, and Rhodin took 3, we know that the pirate who got a Vegas took 4, which must have been 0 + 0 + 0 + 6, Since he has the most starting sponges, he also has the largest amount of starting dye.  Going back to #2 (Mat's level is the sum of the levels of the player who had the largest amount of starting dye,…), we know it's not Mat, so PeglegPaul got the Vegas and Mat got the 2+4.  We already noted above that the Vegas had to be level 7 or 10, and Mat also has to be either 7 or 10.  This means Rhodin is level 4.

The only pirate to get a Vegas was playing a level that is the sum of the levels of the two pirates who used the "plain" pattern-type and the player who had the smallest amount of starting dye.  (Note: four different players are mentioned.)

This means PeglegPaul can't use Plain; he must be Hatched and Rhodin Plain.  The sum of the three levels in this clue would be 7, so PeglegPaul is level 7 and Mat is level 10.

Mat's level is the sum of the levels of the player who had the largest amount of starting dye, the player who got two doubles, and the player who had the largest number of tiles per order. (Note: four different players are mentioned.)

Checking, the largest number of tiles per order of the 5 levels is level 7, so we could have determined that Mat was level 10 earlier.
